What is the optimal length of workout for a rowing machine?

A friend just told me about Concept 2 rowing machines and I tried one out at the gym today. I love it! I use a variety of machines and take classes but the rowing concept is all new to me. What is the optimal length to spend on the machine? I’d like to incorporate it into my routine but not sure how long to shoot for (also, how many times a week would you advise)? Thanks in advance for any insight!
